2024: A Year in Review

2024 has officially come to a close and 2025 has arrived. I’d love to say it was an amazing year where I read so many books that I lost count, but that would be a lie. How many did I read? 15. I had set a goal of 52, so one book a week, but did not come anywhere close to that. I’ve set my goal for 2025 lower at 25. I was in quite the reading slump for awhile and was slowly getting out of it this past year. I have higher hopes for this year.

Favorite Book of 2024

There wasn’t one singular book that I read last year that I would say really stuck out in my mind. However, the Walker Papers series was definitely the best series I read. I also read the Chronicles of the Cheysuli and The Griffin Mage trilogy. Both of those were alright but not anything I would rave about or recommend to a lot of people.

TBR for 2025

For the past few years I’ve been reading books from this Goodreads list. These are books I own that the series they are part of are complete. While I plan to continue reading from this list, I have started this year by rereading series that weren’t complete when I first read them. The last two or three books are on the list, I just need to reread the previous books first. This year, I’m starting with the Symphony of Ages by Elizabeth Haydon.

The other series I’m hoping to reread is the Realm of the Elderlings by Robin Hobb. More specifically the books focusing on Fitz as the main character so I can read The Fitz and the Fool trilogy. It’s been a long time since I read any books in that series and I’m looking forward to revisiting that world.

What are your reading goals for 2025? Are there any books on my list you think I should read first? Let me know in the comments.

2023 – A Year in Review

Well, 2023 has officially come to an end today is the first day of 2024.

I would like to say that I spent a lot of time reading this past year and blogging regularly about it, but sadly that simply isn’t true. My mind was just not on reading this year. In fact, I haven’t even picked up a book and read a page since October at least. Although reading is a hobby I love, I’ve always been the type of person to go through phases with my hobbies. I will get really into doing one particular thing and obsess over it for awhile until I get tired of it and then I move on to the next thing. It’s just the way I am and I’ve learned to accept to.

Yes, this coming year, I’d like to do better with reading. I’ll be setting a goal of 52 books this year, so one book a week, which isn’t unreasonable. I still have my Goodreads list of books I own that are part of a complete series that I want to get through. Clearly it’s taking some time.

I know this isn’t the most exciting update every, but thanks for reading if you did.
